Alki Beach and Kayaking

In July, Gianna, Connor and I went to Alki Beach across from Lake Washingon. I really like it because it just has the best view of Seattle. I had a lot of fun taking pictures. Connor stole my camera for awhile and was obsessed with the zoom on my camera.

Here are some pictures.

That Friday, I went kayaking on Lake Desire (behind Northwood) with Connor. It was an extremely hot day, so being in the lake felt really nice. The lake was deserted, so it was really peaceful. The lake is surrounded by trees too! I love trees.
The bathroom by the lake was the scariest thing I've ever seen though. Still creeps me out.

After kayaking, we went to the Soos Creek Trail and had a picnic! Connor actually packed a lunch with a bunch of my favorits foods, which was really nice and suprising.
We played at the park after and went down the slides. The slides created too much static electricity.

Kent Cornucopia Days

Last Friday, I went to Kent Cornucopia Days with good friend Jocelyn Chang. This was just a big festival with hundreds of booths. It was hot and crowded, and was tons of fun.
We walked around to all the different booths. There were some really cute things, such as the cutest aprons I've ever seen and some cute purses made out of seat-belts, but everything at a fair is really expensive.
My favorite thing about the festival was all the free stuff.
Jocelyn and I were walking around when we saw a big charter bus and a lady told us to go on the bus. We did, and there ended up being a nice couch and spa type thing. We got a free handbag with sample facial stuff, and then we got a free hand wax and hand massage. This picture was taken right after we dipped our hands in wax. They put these white gloves on our hands and then they peeled it off. The lady working there gave a really nice hand massage too!
There was another booth where you put on lipstick and then kissed a card. I failed the first time I kissed the paper. The lady working there said it was the first time someone had to kiss two papers, because the first time I kissed, it didn't work. I ended up being "so you-nique". How exciting. They didn't have anything to wipe the lipstick off with, so I almost walked around with bright pink/red lipstick for the rest of the day! Luckily, we found a hot dog stand and stole some napkins...
Try your kissology!

I've always wanted my caricature drawn, so I convinced Jocelyn to do it with me. I knew that we would look like every other girl he'd ever drawn, especially when the girl before us, who was wearing a ponytail, was drawn with long, pretty hair. I didn't regret it though, and I love my caricature.

Do we look realistic?

There were these really pretty fountains that we both wanted. We ended up getting the smallest ones, but there were huge ones where there was a wine glass on its side and the water came out of the nick. They were all really beautiful. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend my last money on one, and so Jocelyn bought me one for my birthday! It was extremely sweet of her. I love this fountain. I hope you can sort of see it in this picture.

So I finally updated my blog! Hurrah! Enjoy my silly adventures!

Getting asked to Senior Ball!

This is what I found when I came home from High School Musical and the dance on Saturday. Adriel Johnson had filled my room with balloons and placed a card on my door with clues to which balloon i should pop to answer questions.

On the "Who," he had two scriptures that i had to look up, which had his name in them.

Thanks Lindsey, indirectly, for this idea. Apparently, L.W has answered guys twice with this: you take a phone book and write "yes" next to your listing, and then cover it with frosting, so it looks like a cake.

However, mom thought that it was mean, because he would've thought that he was going to get a cake, so I exacto knifed a hole it the business section and put cookies in it. :)

I had a lot of fun watching him take a butcher knife and try to cut open the cake.
I'm really excited for the dance. The group is going to be tons of fun, and Adriel's a nice guy, so I'm looking forward to the whole ordeal. :)

Easter Celebrations

We went on an Easter Hunt today in celebration of the Eater Holidays coming up. Instead of searching for eggs, we searched for pine cones. Mom and I were the big winners of the hunt. I found the above Jaw bone in the yard and Mom found the skull pictured below. Kara was the big loser who only found pine cones.
The bones are from the two bald eagles that live or vacation in our yard.

This is my Easter basket. Notice how much more I have in mine. I must be more loved. ;)

Here's Kara's basket.

Odd and Obscure.

Trevor Gillis brought an accordion to school on Tuesday. After school, he let me play it. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Opening and closing that accordion is hard work! And then there are 120 buttons on the side that represent different chords to play...but you can't see them. I thought it was really fun to play around with it thought.
Mom bought a ton of Cheez-its this week. I was super excited. Cheez-its are my favorite snack. I sort of over-ate them though. Maybe not the best idea... But some of the Cheez-its were scrable ones. So I wrote my name out in college english on the desk. Mrs. Henderson loved it, and came and ate some too. (The Scrabble Cheez-its taste better than the regular ones. Crisper!)
I helped out with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory this week. I was stage crew, and we had to dress like Oompa Loompas because there were open scene changes. It was fun to be on crew because the other crew members were really funny. The first act there were zero scene changes, so we just sat around and read laffy taffy jokes to each other. The second act, we had to move boxes around like every ten seconds it seemed. The play was very cute.
Yay mom and Sis. Connell!

Tolo

My date was Tyler Bond. We went to this place called "Paint-Yourself-Silly" in Federal Way. The pottery was a little more expensive than Color Me Mine, but it didn't have a studio fee, so it ended up being cheaper. We all did 12oz Mugs. My mug had cow print, and i painted MILK on top with red paint.

When we were heading back to my house to eat dinner, the other driver, Amanda Rogers, got into an accident. We had taken the wrong exit, and so we got off and did a U-Turn, and she followed me, but didnt look, and got into the accident. Everyone was okay, and the cars weren't damaged too badly, and unfortunately, Amanda's dad told Trevor to inform the police, which ended up being a really bad idea because then Amanda and the other driver got a ticket (because he was driving without a license) and it took like an extra hour.

When we finally got back to my house, it was an hour and a half after we had scheduled, so we ate really fast. Mom did a really good job decorating the table with lights and pictures and stuff. Dinner was good. We did a potluck thing, so each of the girls brought part of the meal.

After dinner, our group split up. Amanda, Connor, Gianna, Trevor, Stephanie and Brandon went to the KR dance, and Sean, Jana, Tyler and I went to the LDS prom in Maple Valley. I'm really glad that we made the decision to go there instead 0f the KR dance, because it was a lot of fun, and there we 5 slow songs in the 40 minute period we were there. The decorations were amazing!

After the dance, we went to Stephanie's and played Scattegories and ate PI.

Date with Dallin

On Saturday, I went on a date with Dallin Connell. We went to the Seattle Thunderbirds game. The new stadium is just a few miles away, and it's the same place I'll be graduating in 4 Months from now, so that was cool to see the arena. Anders Bostrom had the idea to choose a player from the Thunderbirds team and root for him, and that was a really good idea, becuase after that, Dallin, Anders, Arielle and I were super into the game. This is my player. Chris Cloud. Dallin, Anders and my player each scored a goal so that was a lot of fun. Every time the Thunderbirds scored, everyone would stand up and cheer and the would play this song, and everyone would clap in time and then punch their fists in the air on "HEY". We totally enjoyed doing that.

If the Thunderbirds scored five goals, then everyone there got a free coupon for a burger at Dairy Queen, so when they got their fifth goal, everyone freaked out. Greg Connell was giving high fives to everyone around. They won 6-0. :)

After the game, we all went to Dairy Queen and got the burgers. We were suposed to be "flamethrower" burgers, but Arielle and I traded ours. whew!

After Dairy Queen, we all went to the Batschi's and had dessert. Ice cream and root beer!
The Couples were:
Dallin and Chrissy
Greg and Melanie Hogg
Anders Bsotrom and Arielle Holmes
David Batschi and Jennica
Jerry Batschi and Kirsten Vach
and one more couple that i never learned the name of...

It was a really fun date!

Toilet Paper

This is the magazine cover that i made in Graphic Arts. It was the big project of the semester. We had a ton of requirements, and it took like three weeks. Originally, I was going to do it on cows, but it was too hard to find articles. I chose to do my magazine on toilet paper because that makes a projects every year on the thing, drawn from Orson Scott Card's Standards of Toilet Paper. If you have never read this, you should, because it is hilarious.
My other projects were
9th: A 20 min. "I Adore" Speech.
10th: A Short essay on a useful item.
11th: It was part of my physics portfolio.
I'll probably look back on these projects and remember how lame i was in high school, but for now, I'll enjoy my toilet papered high school project experience.

The Biggest Loser

So this is my opinion on the contestants of Biggest Loser this season, or a few of them.

PINK TEAM- HELEN AND SHANNON

Shannon and her mom, Helen. These two people make me uncomfortable. It is quite obvious that Shannon has DEFinitely been babied her entire life. Helen is really wierd. Mom likes her because she is so tough, but she kind of reminds me of Kelly from season 5. Kelly just made me so uncomfortable, and Helen totally does too. Everytime one of these two gives an interview, I work on my homework, or text, or... Like last week when Helen was going on and on about "dont tell me you're not playing the game..."*avert eyes* I dont Dislike them, they just wierd me out a little. a lot.

YELLOW TEAM- MANDI AND AUBREY

I like Mandi a lot. I like Aubrey too, but havent really gotten to know her i guess. These two seem real. They seem like nice people who are there for the right reasons but also play the game. I liked what Aubrey said last week about "Blaine wants to go home and Dane wants to stay. What else is there to discuss?" but i might have interpreted that completely wrong. I guess I'll never know since their vote wasnt revealed. I liked watching Mandi with her husband and kids. I hope they are there for a long time.

BROWN TEAM- MIKE AND RON

What in the world happened to make these two on this show. I mean, sure, they need it. And I dont think they shouldnt be there or anything, it's just that I can't even Begin to imagine this family watching the show religiously or signing up for the show with hopeful anticipation... Can you? They just seem so out of place there, because you never see them happy, they hardly ever give interviews unless they are below the line, and Mike seriously doesnt have much of a personality shown on this show. I mean, i think the only thing I've heard him say was, "It's hard for me to see my dad like this... I owe it to him... I need to work twice as hard to make up for my dad..." And the wierdest thing is- he's never really complaining when he says that! Like the second week, I remember telling my mom that Mike really needed to get a personality or people wouldnt care what happened to him. Can you imagine Tara and Mike in any sort of a relationship? NO WAY. Mike's like a minerature version of his 50 year old father. And he's the youngest player ever. Doesnt anyone remember Dan (Season 5)? I had always pictured an 18 year old to be a little more teenager-ish. You know the whole "overweight kids are insecure" stereotype? It almost seems like all these overweight people have gotten together, and so being the only overweight person isnt an issue, but Mike still has that insecurity. I hope he's around long enough to develop a personality. :)

BLUE TEAM!- FILIPE AND SIONE

YAY for the Blue team! Filipe is BY FAR my favorite contestant of this season. Probably of all seasons, although I really liked Kae (Season 4) a lot. It's probably just because he's Tongan. And he and Sione are Mormon but. :) I love every single interview that Filipe and Sione give. When Filipe yells, it makes me smile a lot. Who doesn't??Allison loves this guy too--> it's so obvious. Who wouldn't?? I really appreciated how Filipe reacted to this last elimination, by saying that if he were in that position, he would want people to support him. I love these guys, and if I could chose a winner, it would most definitely be Filipe right now. :)
GO BLUE TEAM!
